Churches and organs In the mountain-cities like Annaberg-Buchholz, Freiberg or Schneeberg, proud churches are a sign of the self-confidence and the wealth these cities once achieved. Also the small defense-churches that were used in the late Middle age as a substitute for lacking castles for defending, in the border area, are a special feature of the Oremountains. In some Oeremountain`s churches, you can listen to the sounds of organs built by Johann Gottfried Silbermnann. So, you can get an impression of his genius.
